Arura

Arura is an international camp for young people from across Northern Ireland and further afield. It is a week long camp which provides an opportunity for young people to get together and enjoy a great holiday in a Christian atmosphere.

Arura is an Australian Aboriginal word meaning gathering at camp. As the name suggests, the first ever Rally Arura was held in Australia in 1978. The first Rally Arura to be held in Northern Ireland was in 1984 and it is held here every four to six years.

Towns which have already hosted an Arura camp and welcomed visitors from around the world are Enniskillen, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Armagh and Londonderry. The next Arura in Northern Ireland will be in 2010.
